Little Miss Sunshine

Q and A

A:勉强是。

The Origin of Christmas

Christmas Day-December 25-which celebrates the birth of Jesus Christ, the founder of the Christian religion, is the biggest and best-loved holiday in the United States.

According to the Bible, the holy book of Christians, God decided to allow his only son, Jesus Christ, to be born to a human mother and live on earth so that people could understand God better and learn to love God and each other more. "Christmas"- meaning "celebration of Christ "- honors the time when Jesus was born to a young Jewish woman Mary.

Mary was engaged to be married to Joseph, a carpenter, but before they came together, she was found to be with child. Because Joseph, her husband, was a righteous man and did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce her quietly. But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, "Do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins."

Although the exact date of the birth of Jesus nearly 2,000 years ago is not known, the calendar on the supposed date divides all time into B.C. (Before Christ )and A.D. ( a Latin phrase, Anno Domini, "in the year of our Lord.")For the first 300 years, Jesus' birthday was celebrated on different dates. Finally, in the year 354, church leaders chose December 25 as his birthday.

I can't survive. I am gone."

Brain Cells Fused with Computer Chip

By Ker Than

The line between living organisms and machines has just become a whole lot blurrier. European researchers have developed "neuro-chips" in which living brain cells and silicon circuits are coupled together.

The achievement could one day enable the creation of sophisticated neural prostheses to treat neurological disorders or the development of organic computers that crunch numbers using living neurons.

To create the neuro-chip, researchers squeezed more than 16,000 electronic transistors and hundreds of capacitors onto a silicon chip just 1 millimeter square in size.

They used special proteins found in the brain to glue brain cells, called neurons, onto the chip. However, the proteins acted as more than just a simple adhesive.
"They also provided the link between ionic channels of the neurons and semiconductor material in a way that neural electrical signals could be passed to the silicon chip," said study team member Stefano Vassanelli from the University of Padua in Italy.

The proteins allowed the neuro-chip's electronic components and its living cells to communicate with each other. Electrical signals from neurons were recorded using the chip's transistors, while the chip's capacitors were used to stimulate the neurons.

It could still be decades before the technology is advanced enough to treat neurological disorders or create living computers, the researchers say, but in the nearer term, the chips could provide an advanced method of screening drugs for the pharmaceutical industry.
"Pharmaceutical companies could use the chip to test the effect of drugs on neurons, to quickly discover promising avenues of research," Vassanelli said.

The researchers are now working on ways to avoid damaging the neurons during stimulation. The team is also exploring the possibility of using a neuron's genetic instructions to control the neuro-chip.

"Free Yourself Of Frustration And Start Really Helping Your Bipolar Loved One"

I know your loved one's behaviors aren't your fault or your imagination and how you can get through this -- because I did. . .

Dear Concerned Reader,

When the obvious symptoms or generalized checklists for bipolar don't really match your loved one's behaviors, how can you find out what you're really dealing with. . .or how to cope with it. . .right now?

I survived a loved one's bipolar depression and know you can too because I've spent years showing people all over the world how to cope with and help effectively manage the often negative behaviors of their own bipolar loved ones.

With each of them I shared the powerful information thousands of depression victims and their family members - firsthand experts who know exactly what works and what doesn't with a loved one's depression - shared with me.

In fact their proven hands-on knowledge has already helped tens of thousands of people just like you - including a good friend of mine who recently called me in tears. . .

For the first time she told me about her husband's disturbing on-again-off-again behaviors and that he suddenly said he'd paid an attorney to write-up divorce papers!

Of course, my friend was very upset.

And only when I told her what these experts said about bipolar depression's specific 70 Signs, 4 Emotional Trip Wires and 2 Defense Mechanisms, did she even realize her husband had experienced a number of them.

Then I explained how his statement about divorce was Sign #27, a bipolar reaction to the triggering of one of its 4 Emotional Trip Wires.

Next I told her the 5 specific sentences these experts taught me to help get a bipolar loved one turned around, and exactly how and when to say them.

And lastly I gave my friend the single most effective way to get her loved one into treatment, even if he didn't want to go.

Two weeks passed when she called back and said, "You know what? I told him exactly what you said. He thought about it a few minutes, looked at me and said, 'I love you too. And I really do want to work things out, whatever it takes.' Now we have an appointment with a mental health expert and everything's back on the right track again!"

Later my friend's husband was diagnosed as bipolar and successfully treated.

Whether your own loved one is a bipolar family member, significant other or friend. . .

Those same simple strategies can work for you too

Those same 5 sentences and the knowledge behind them can work for you too. More importantly - they can start working for you right away.

I know because they've already worked for tens of thousands of other bipolar co-victims - people who are just like you and me.

When bipolar disorder struck my loved one, I didn't have a clue what I was looking at.

He blamed me for everything, had me halfway convinced I was the one with the problem and I couldn't find real help anywhere.

Not even in all the books I read. Much later I learned that's because the term "depression" is a catch-all word that refers to only one of the illness' symptoms. Plus doctors who've never seen all the symptoms because they've never had a loved one with bipolar depression. . .write most all of the books on bipolar. . .even today.

And that's dangerous because if these on-again-off-again signs that often continue after diagnosis are missed or coped with incorrectly, your loved one's bipolar disorder can deepen and become more difficult to treat. But that's not all.

Look through most of those books and you'll see they only tell you to be patient and understanding - but nothing about how to actively help yourself and your bipolar loved one.

Worse still, even your most "natural reactions" may actually be increasing your loved one's bipolar symptoms right now.

The firsthand bipolar experts I finally found already knew that. Better yet they understood what I was going through and knew what to do.

In fact the proven strategies they discovered including. . .

• How to quickly recognize bipolar depression's 70 Signs, 4 Emotional Trip Wires and 2 Defense Mechanisms,

• Exactly what to do and say (and not do and say) to effectively cope with inappropriate and abusive behaviors and how to start working together as a team to help your bipolar loved one identify and modify them,

• 5 things you can start doing today to immediately help yourself and your bipolar loved one before the illness grows into deepening depression or uncontrollable mania,

• 6 trigger words and phrases that instantly defeat any chance you have of getting your bipolar loved one to hear what you say,

• How to open pathways to positive communications,

• 4 proven steps to resolve any conflict with your loved one and

• The 1 most effective way to get your bipolar loved one into treatment,

have worked successfully in all kinds of situations and circumstances.

And now this new information that's never before been available to everyone who really needs it - can help you too.

Here's How This Knowledge Can Start Helping You Right Now. . .

After my loved one was diagnosed with bipolar disorder, I became a Faculty Member of NAMI (National Alliance for the Mentally Ill) and interviewed thousands of these hands-on experts including bipolar (also know as manic) and clinical depression victims, their family members and friends.

And recently I was able to put their lifetimes of knowledge into a new, jargon-free and easy-to-understand book, 70 Signs Of Depression: Recognize and Cope With Your Loved One's Clinical or Manic Depression.

"Thank you for giving me back my sanity."
Sarah J., wife of bipolar spouse

This new book isn't for your bipolar loved one. It's just for you.

And it's all about what's happening to you right now, guiding you through it by showing you how to recognize, cope and help with your loved one's bipolar depression.

The first and only book that shows you how to recognize depression's 70 Signs, 4 Emotional Trip Wires and 2 Defense Mechanisms, 70 Signs Of Depression also gives you proven coping strategies for each of them.

Plus it shows you exactly what to do and say, including the exact words and tone of voice to use, guiding and coaching you every step of the way so you can help yourself and your bipolar loved one as quickly as possible.

Here Are Some Of The Secrets You'll
Discover To Help Recognize And Cope
With Your Loved One's Bipolar Disorder

On page after page bipolar sufferers, their families and friends show you:
• How you can stop your loved one's emotional outbursts (page 105)

• What to do if your loved one over-reacts to world events (page 122)
• How to make holidays and special occasions enjoyable (page 118)

• How to stop groundless blaming and regain your peace of mind (page 162)

• How to help manage and cope with the 2 Defense Mechanisms of Camouflage and Denial even after diagnosis (page 10)
• Why your loved one re-tells things differently than they happened (page 71)
• Why you may be the only one who really sees these bipolar behaviors (page 101)
• Why you should never stand during confrontations with a bipolar (page 175)
• What to do if your loved one feels the need to control you or others (page 100)
• How to ease the sense of competition you feel (page 76)
• Why your bipolar loved one may "disappear" for periods of time (page 108)
• How to keep your own self-esteem from sinking (page 30)
• What to do if your loved one is angry or "hates" you (page 161)

It's different than any book on bipolar disorder you've ever seen.

"This book is the most comprehensive resource I've ever read on recognizing and successfully coping with bipolar disorder symptoms."
Chris G., bipolar victim's son

And most importantly. . .

If your loved one is suffering from bipolar disorder you must act quickly because recognizing all of its symptoms, and coping with them correctly, can be critical to the success of its treatment.

《Survey: Most Blogging Is Personal》
Most bloggers focus on describing their personal experiences to a relatively small audience of readers while only a small percentage focus their coverage on politics, media, government or technology. So finds a national phone survey of bloggers released yesterday by Pew Internet & American Life Project. The survey says that the number of adult Americans who write blogs has grown to 12 million, or about 8 percent of adult Internet users, and that readers of blogs number 57 million American adults, or 39 percent of Internet users.

When asked to identify the main subject of their blogs, 37 percent answered, "my life and experiences." Other topics were far less frequent: 11 percent focus on politics and government; 7 percent focus on entertainment; 6 percent focus on sports; 5 percent focus on general news and current events; 5 percent focus on business; 4 percent on technology; 2 percent on religion, spirituality or faith; and even fewer focus on specific hobbies, health problems or other topics. The survey did not ask about law as a specific topic.

她说:“Time is money.”

Mircea Eliade (1907-1986)
